The Russell Yard JR?

When the Jack Russell terrier was recognised as a breed by the Australian National Canine Council the breeders who had already been breeding JRT's in the Jack Russell Club of Australia wanted to keep their prefix when they moved over to ANCK, to make this possible they got /JR behind the prefix so there would be no mix up with kennel names already registered in ANCK. Only the breeders who moved their kennel from the Jack Russell terrier club have /JR behind their prefix. Younger breeders also wanted to use JR, but they cant but the / in front of JR. So a kennel with a prefix that ends with/JR shows you that this kennel have been in the breed for a long time and have a lot of experience with the Jack Russell terrier. I also want to add the JR behind my kennel prefix on my Jack puppies, because I want to seperate them from my Parson litters, but also to show other breeders I know the history behind the breed.

When my husband and I first started to look for a pup we looked at a lot of breeds, and we fell in love with the Jack Russell terrier, but back then the breed was not recognised in the Norwegian Kennel Club and I wanted a dog I could try most activities with. So we ended up with the Parson Russell terrier, and that is not a choice we regret.

But when the JRT finally got approved here in Norway we just had to find a Jack, and in May 2006 Lucky Jacks Andora, Lotta, moved in with us.

Lucky Jacks Andora

Lotta and I quickly got interested in agility. She is a great agility dog, and she could have done very well if only her owner trained more to keep up with her. Lotta injured her knees during an agility training, and a visit to the vet gave us bad news. Both her knees were luxating. We had just checked her hips and they were excellent, so we had started to think about a litter in the future. Lotta is a great little personality, and she is more than we hoped for. Now we had to train less because of her knees and she could never give us the litter we had dreamt of. But as time went by Lotta showed us no signs of having problems with her knees, and finally we decided to check her again. We went to a new vet, I told him the story about her knees and he told us he was not able to luxate her knees at all. But he also told us Lotta's injury could have made them luxate if she was swollen at the time the vet checked her patellas. This made us all very happy, and now we can train more agility without having to worry about her knee injury.

Rascalee JR Suki

Lotta loves other dogs, but there is something extra nice with other Jack Russells. They talk the same language, and if she could choose she would play with and sleep togheter with other JRTs. So for a while Terry wawe's Nothing Else Matters lived with us, but she is now back with her breeders Nina and Ole Andre. In 2008 we imported Rascalee JR Suki from kennel Rascalee in Autralia. An incredible bitch with a nice pedigree. We quickly realized she ended up in the wrong home. We live far from the big shows, and we also have two small children, so we are not able to show her as much as we wanted to. Suki now lives with Inger-Lise and Ida at kennel Knøtteliten. We have a deal with them, so in the future we will go down to them and pick a pup from one of Suki's litters.
